Getting into the NERD of things...
Look at me blogging two days in a row!
My credential arrived, along with two little badges for my back-pac. They have clam shells on them ( one of the symbols of this crazy walk) and Canadian flags so that people know I'm a "friendly" pilgrim.
Today I visited the Church of St. James on Piccadilly Rd...and for God's sake, I ran into a guy named Glen Ludlow. Only a few of you will know that he was once married to Roberta Mauer-Philips back in the "Shadow Days". I haven't seen the guy in over 10 years....so it's amazing I knew his face, let alone remembered his name!!!
Tomorrow morning I'm up bright and early to catch my plane to Biarritz, in the south of France. I will spend the night there and then catch a train to St.Jean Pied du Port. So long as all goes smoothly, I will begin Day 1 on Friday, June 18th. A 1200m climb into the Pyranees to get me to Roncesvales in Spain. I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M DOING THIS!!! I woke up with a crick in my neck which does not bode well for hiking with a big back-pac....I suspect that this little "crick" will be the least of my aches and pains in no time at all....
I also ran into someone I THINK I went to high school with at the bus stop this morning. Didn't talk to him, as I believe he was a grade above me...and you know how weird it can be to cross that line. It has me wondering about crossing paths though....Wonder if I'll run into anyone else along the way....?

Hey lady, it's hard to write comments, had to set up an account! Worth it to be able to send you words from home! Like: love you, good luck, shells are nice, Canadians are nice, walking is fun, foot pain is a small cost to finding ones soul!
SHE'S OFF!
It's friggin early in the morning on a Wednesday and little Miss Northan has just left the building for an adventure of a lifetime.
Wow. She looked like such a professional hiker lady with all her new MEC gear. A little bit like an adventurous lesbian.
In high spirits and certainly well equipped, I wish her the most fantastic 5 weeks of her life!
