Whooooo are you? Who, who? Who, who?

Yeah....CSI is a secret addiction of mine. I think the actor that plays Grissam is totally HOT! I know, I know....we're supposed the think the black guy and the other built white guy are the hotties....But I like the slightly older, mysterious smart guy.

Anyhow...that was a total tangent! Because my real reason for writing today is to ask my gentle readers to reveal themselves to me - NOT in a "surprise-me-in-a-dark-alley-and-whip-open-your-bathrobe" king of way....but I invite you all to come forward and let me know who you are and how often you read. Some of you I know well, even too well, as I am forced to suffer your stabbing comments in person after a new post....But others - well, I have no idea. The internet is such a wide open space, perhaps some of you are in prison?!

I ask for a couple of reasons:

1. I'm just plain, old curious...

2. I am toying with the idea of taking my BLOG out of the public domaine. My reason for that is that "Alice, I Think" will be previewing on the Comedy Network on May 26th (8pm if you want to set your VCR!), and on CTV in the fall. Now - the show is very decidedly aimed at a "family" audience and I am concerned that some of the content on this BLOG may not be suitable for younger readers....

Yes- I could very well be jumping the gun here. The show may air, and no one young and impressionable will find my BLOG and read all the intimate details of my life....At this point I'm convinced that most readers are blood relatives and you can just call me and ask for the PASSWORD to get onto my BLOG once I make it private.....But if you DON'T share a genetic code with me, but still want to log on in the future....Well, I'm gonna need to know who you are....Dig?

ALSO....If you're a regular reader and have a blog of your own...I'd be into checking it out!

So, am I being a shitty internet date here and ruining the mood? Is part of the fun of reading someone else's BLOG knowing that you're doing it anonymously? Is there a peeping-Tom aspect to this BLOG thing? ( and who was Tom and how did he get such a shit reputation that his name is forever linked with perverts through time?)......(NOT that any of you are perverts)

Then again....as I've said here many, many times....What do I have to hide? Not much. I'm human. If you're reading this, you are too....OR you're one seriously, fucking SMART house cat - and I want to know all about you too!

I'm torn...

I open the floor for comments....

Rebecca,

My cats Johnny and Alice have actually read your blog many times but as they have no opposable thumbs, they have refrained from responding.

I vote for the privacy/password route. Once "Alice" airs, you will be googled and googled and googled some more. And everyone will be reading the blog.

You have nothing to hide for the sake of the show but if you felt like you'd prefer to keep some posts amongst a smaller group of people, the open access blog may not be for you.

Anyhoozlebottom, just some thoughts.

Have fun in Norwayskey!

Rebecca,

Yes. You are loved. People read your blog. Do you feel better?

As for the privacy question, I'd say do it. You are going to be a huge star now, and you wouldn't want just anybody knowing about how you cleaned out your colon in preparation of your wedding!

Have a great time jetsetting around the world, moviestar!!

Hi Rebecca,
Yours is one of the two blogs I read that are written by people I don't really know (well, I guess you and I have actually met once or twice)... love your style. If you go to password, I'd love to stay "in the loop", and I promise not to tell any young, impressionable kids about your colon.

Mom #2 here (waving at you from Ottawa) letting you know that when things are quiet at the office I always stop by for a visit to your always insightful blogs colonic cleansings and all. Nice to know you're thinking about the potential damage to young minds. Since you asked, I'm just too fucking old to be innocent or impressionable. But I am thrilled to be even remotely associated with a rising start like you! Well maybe I'm still a bit impressionable eh? So by all means put me on your password list.

Hey Saucy Tart!
Fee here.

Not only do I read your Blog but it's bookmarked on my computer and I check regularly for updates. I love being able to feel like I'm still part of your day to day life even though you're half the world away.

I'm also addicted to CSI, and the Las Vegas one is the best. It appeals to my nerdy nature; I love how they figure stuff out and I secretly wish I had a lab coat and could spend my day doing cool experiments.

And by the way, some of the people who read your blog definately are perverts. One of them is a funny looking guy who's crashing your honeymoon and coming to Oslo with you. But then, since he's my guy and I love him, I guess that kind of makes me a pervert too. ;)

Have fun in Norway, looking forward to reading all of your adventures.

Love you Lady! xxxxx

Silly Becky! Privatizing a blog is about the dumbest thing to do despite what the general trend of comments say so far. Look at one of my favourite wrestlers, John Cena. The current WWE champion and biggest there is in the business right now. He has a my space account where he writes blogs for EVERYONE to access without permissions and passwords. It's called creating and saving face. His popularity has grown immensely since doing this and as you are an actress I suggest following in his footsteps. You have to get your name out there and what better way than having a site hit by thousands of readers? You can tell anyone who says otherwise that they can come visit your "little" cousin at the back alley for a "discussion". lol! Have a good one and hope that helps you out.

Hey Rebecca,

I started reading your blog about a month or so ago and find it has become one of my daily rituals. If you do go private I would love to be able to still get my fill of the Adventures of Rebecca and Bruce!

Hugs,
Valerie...may we meet again on a street corner in Vancouver.

Rebecca,

Yes, the internet is a wondrous thing!
Who am I? Gregg Wolff.
No blog, but I am described on the following website:
http://172.16.30.30/attorneys/wolff/
I check your website a couple of times a week.
We’ve never met, unless you count the time you pulled
me up on stage during your Second City mainstage stint.
I saw you in a St. Nowhere performance on the Tim Simm’s
stage (may it rest in peace), and bookmarked your site and a number
of your cohorts’ sites afterwards so I could catch your respective
performances the next time I came though town.
I would really miss your blog, and would love to be included

Becca,
I'm always amused by the fact that we, as responsible artists, are concerned about 'impressionable' youth. You are about to appear on television....TELEVISION!!!!... quite possibly the most irresponisible purveyor of ideas on the planet. You want to sheild the youngsters from some language and a little sex talk, but they're watching waaaaaay more than that on the tube.

Of course, if you want to keep your personal identity private, that's an entirely different matter. But please don't privatize your blog because you think that you're helping to preserve the morality of a youth culture that is already so saturated with misplaced ideas that most of them can't draw you a picture of a fresh vegetable.

And for the record, when we had TV, I TOTALLY had a crush on Nick on CSI.

Do you promote yourself to the industry elsewhere online?
Google your name and this blog tops the list.
If “A, I T” gives the career some extra traction it might be prudent to password protect.
Otherwise nascent fans may be asking about colonics. Casting directors too.
